DELAWARE ANIMAL DISASTER SERVICES
MINUTES OF EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING
October 28, 2009
The
meeting was called to order at 1:00 PM by President Donald Taylor at the Sussex
County Emergency Operations Center.
Those
members in attendance were Don and Mary Jane Taylor, Jim and Linda Bosco, and Betty
Kellicutt and Donald Kellicutt.
The
minutes of the September 30, 2009 meeting had been previously distributed via
email and also posted on the web site. There being no additions or corrections,
the minutes were approved as posted.
The Treasurer reported income of $37 (donations) and
an expense of $92.35 (reimbursement to Betty Kellicutt for purchase of
pet-motive umbrellas) for a balance of $1,451.11 in the checking account. Erik Anderson completed the audit of the
checking account (2006 to present) and reported all bank statements and
balances reconciled to the treasurer’s records. His recommendation that future financial records be segregated
according to the organization’s fiscal year will be followed.
The manufacturer of the Pet First Aid Kits will not
sell a bulk order directly. Orders must
be placed through one of the retail outlets they supply. A
small quantity of pet-print umbrellas was received These “raining cats and
dogs” umbrellas will be used as door prizes or a giveaway at selected D.A.D.S.
events. These items may be offered for
sale through the D.A.D.S. web site at some point in the future.
D.A.D.S.
participated in are Laurel Community Day on October 3rd by
distributing brochures and other information.
An
application for a grant through the Milton Community Foundation will be
submitted.
D.A.D.S.
will participate in the Paws for People Conference in New Castle County on
November 21st.
The
next Executive Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center.
