MINUTES OF EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

January 27, 2010

The meeting was called to order at 1:00 PM by President Donald Taylor at the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center.

Those members in attendance were Don and Mary Jane Taylor, Erik Anderson, Pam Pridgeon and Betty and Donald Kellicutt.

The minutes of the November 25, 2009 meeting had been previously distributed via email and also posted on the web site. There being no additions or corrections, the minutes were approved as posted. The December meeting was cancelled.

The Treasurer reported a balance of $1,451.11 in the checking account as of January 27, 2010. There was no income or expense since the November 2009 meeting.

Because of the diminished request for participation by D.A.D.S. and the lack of volunteers and funding, serious consideration is being given to closing the non-profit and disbanding D.A.D.S. The Department of Agriculture has primary responsibility for animals in disaster planning under their Delaware Animal Response Team. A representative from the Department of Agriculture will be invited to speak at our next meeting.

If D.A.D.S. is disbanded, the remaining funds and assets must be distributed to another non-profit in accordance with the By-Laws and IRS regulations.

If D.A.D.S. is still a viable entity in April, consideration is being given to participating in the Ducks Unlimited Green Wing Event at Owens Station.

The next Executive Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center.
